Mighty Mudbugs work together to be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.

At Sorrento Primary, our school-wide expectations are for our students to be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.  When students exhibit these behaviors they receive Dojo points.  Students are allowed to cash in their Dojo points bi-monthly and their rewards are redeemed on the Friday following the cash in day.  We call that day “Mudbug Madness”.

K-2 Rewards:  fun pencil, wear jeans, extra recess, take off shoes, bring a show and tell item, book buddy reader, wear crazy socks, bring a stuffed animal/figurine, sit with the teacher at lunch, choose a treat, computer time, sit in teacher’s chair, bring a snack to class, sit by a frient at lunch, treat with the principal, and wear a hat

3-5 Rewards:  take off shoes, bring a snack to class, wear crazy socks, bring a handheld fidget/pop it, wear a hat, wear jeans, wear sunglasses, computer time, sit in teacher’s chair, bring a stuffed animal/figurine, sit by a friend at lunch, free dress day, book buddy reader, sit by a teacher at lunch, library/office helper, treat with the principal, extra recess

At the end of each month, each teacher chooses 1 student from their homeroom class to be named their “Mighty Mudbug” for being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.  These students are rewarded with a donut and a certificate.

We plan a DOJO Bash each 9 weeks.  Students that have a 90% Dojo Average and no minor/major infractions for the entire quarter will be invited to attend.
